The Ingredient
Cacay oil is a cold-pressed plant oil extracted from the nuts of Caryodendron orinocense — a tree that grows wild across the Colombian Amazon and Orinoco basin, where Piaroa and Yukpa communities have used it for generations. Modern analysis now measures what indigenous practice already knew: among all plant oils studied, cacay contains some of the highest concentrations of natural retinol, vitamin E, and linoleic acid. No synthetic additives, no dilution. This is the oil, undiluted.

Skin Benefits
Natural retinol (vitamin A) accelerates cell turnover, signalling the skin to produce new cells and shed older, dull ones. The result: a more even tone and visibly refined texture over time — without the irritation common with synthetic retinoids.
Cacay oil is exceptionally rich in tocopherols (vitamin E), with concentrations roughly three times higher than argan oil. Tocopherols neutralise free radicals from UV and pollution before they can break down collagen and accelerate visible ageing.
Linoleic acid (~70%) is an essential fatty acid the skin cannot synthesise itself. Applied topically, it reinforces the lipid matrix of the stratum corneum — reducing trans-epidermal water loss, calming irritation, and leaving skin measurably more hydrated.
Retinol activates fibroblast activity, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. Regular use supports the structural density of skin — reducing the depth of fine lines and preserving the firmness that slows with age.
Beta-sitosterol — a phytosterol present in cacay oil — has documented anti-inflammatory properties. It suppresses pathways involved in redness and sensitivity, making the oil suitable for reactive and post-procedure skin alongside its anti-ageing role.
Despite its rich nutrient density, cacay oil is relatively lightweight and absorbs quickly. It does not sit on the surface or clog pores. Suitable for oily-combination through to dry and mature skin — and compatible with most skin tones and types.
Active Compounds
Vitamin A
Among the highest concentrations found in any plant oil. Drives cell renewal and collagen synthesis without the barrier disruption of synthetic retinoids. Works overnight while skin is in repair mode.
Vitamin E
~113mg per 100g — approximately three times the concentration in argan oil. Fat-soluble antioxidants that protect the lipid layers of the skin membrane from oxidative degradation.
Omega-6
~70% of cacay oil's fatty acid profile. An essential fatty acid the body cannot produce. Rebuilds the skin's lipid barrier, reduces inflammation, and is especially beneficial for dehydrated and sensitive skin types.
Application
Cacay oil is highly concentrated. A few drops are enough. Best used at night — retinol works in sync with the skin's natural repair cycle, which peaks during sleep. Apply as the last step of your evening routine. No other product required.
Step 01
Apply after cleansing. Slightly damp skin — not fully dried — allows the oil to glide and absorb more readily. Pat your face gently with a towel but leave a trace of moisture on the surface before applying.
Step 02
Dispense 3–4 drops into your palm. Press both hands together for a few seconds. The heat from your hands reduces viscosity and allows the oil to spread evenly — a small step that meaningfully improves penetration.
Step 03
Rest both palms gently on your face, then use your fingertips to smooth the oil from the centre outward. Cover the full face, neck, and décolleté. Light, outward strokes — no rubbing needed, the oil distributes easily.
Step 04
Let the oil settle for 60–90 seconds, then sleep. No need to rinse. Retinol activity peaks during the skin's natural repair cycle overnight — morning is when you see what the oil did.
The Sequence
Cacay is an evening oil. Retinol works best overnight, when the skin is in active repair mode. Apply it last — after any water-based serums, before sleep.

Good to Know
Apply 1–2 drops to the ends of dry or towel-dried hair to smooth frizz and condition. Press a drop into cuticles to strengthen and hydrate. The same concentrated nutrition that repairs skin works well on keratin.
Cacay's natural retinol can complement or replace synthetic retinol. If you're using prescription retinoids or high-concentration vitamin A, apply cacay oil on top to buffer irritation and replenish the barrier — not beneath. Build frequency slowly.
Vitamin A compounds increase the skin's sensitivity to UV light. Using cacay at night avoids this entirely — and aligns with when the skin is most receptive. In the morning, your SPF does its job on skin that's already been fed.

Origin
Our cacay oil is cold-pressed from nuts harvested in certified organic plantations across Meta, Caquetá, and Putumayo — the same departments where the tree grows wild. Cold-pressing preserves the full nutrient profile: no heat, no solvents, no refinement. A single origin, a single ingredient.
The tree — Caryodendron orinocense — grows to 40 metres and yields up to 250kg of nuts per season. It takes four to seven years to bear fruit, and the plantation model extends sustainable harvest beyond what wild collection alone could provide. We source from growers with direct traceability to department and farm.
